Why people use facebook

Ok this one comes as a result of my prolonged and never ending boredom which I am facing nowadays at home. I tell you writing a blog is heck of a task but now I have finally decided to give it a try. Since this is my first time I know I can be a bit off  track at times and also a bit stiff in writing but gradually I think I’ll be able to improve on my so called “fluency”. Anyways, so in this blog let’s talk about the use of facebook or to be more precise how people use facebook to cater their needs (you don’t need to use that dirty brain of yours to get the meaning of “needs”).

It is said some people are sent by God to bring out revolutions in this world and I think one such person is Mark Zukerburg. I don’t really know if everyone agrees with me, but when you consider facts today more than 250 million people around the globe are signed in on facebook. According to google the world population in 2011 crossed 6 billion mark which means roughly 42 percent of the total population uses facebook for social networking. The guy surely must have built something to get so much attention and that’s why I think it’s a revolution. What actually do these 250 million people do on facebook? Is it just about keeping in touch with friends and family? Well I don’t think so and whether people admit it or not they will agree with me. We can’t even imagine the extent to which facebook can be used. Recently I read an article in the newspaper and it said “facebook account can play a spoilsport if you are going for an interview”. Confused? Many organizations have nowadays started checking the profiles of their candidates to know more about their future employees. Now this can be dangerous and can end you up with losing your job if they find anything fishy in you profile. By far I think it’s the most bizarre use of facebook I have heard in a long time.

Before facebook started, orkut used to be the most common among people as far as social networking was concerned. However after the development of facebook people have literally become as addicted to it as one becomes to drugs. Facebook chat is probably the most used app of facebook. You can endlessly chat with your friends and even to unknown people(which are generally girls :P) and who knows if you are lucky and good enough you can get them dating with you. So now we know the reason for boys to be addicted to facebook. All the single lads keep trying their luck until they are successful, after all there are 250 million users and out of which I think at least 40 percent should be girls. So there is a very high probability that you’ll find someone or the other on facebook if not in your college, school or your workplace. But why are girls addicted to facebook??? Well the reason is quite simple. It’s like a cat fight, the more boys you can attract the more popular you are considered in your group. I am not saying that all boys and girls have the same mentality but talking about most of the ‘janta’ the case is the same(in case of girls I think it is less as compared to  boys). This was about the people who are in their adolescence, but what about the grown up ‘janta’, the parents, guardians etc. What motives do they have apart from keeping in touch with their friends? Actually the motive is mentoring this adolescent group which they believe is possible by adding their children on facebook but I tell u they are so wrong when they think so. World has grown much smarter than they think and their own children know well enough how to tackle these kind of situations. So basically I would say that their motive sounds farfetched which they will never be able to accomplish. I would rate this ‘janta’ under ‘people with misconceptions’:D.
There are even many early starters on facebook. Not sure if they still get their cradles rocked to go to sleep but they can surely log in to facebook and get a feel of what adolescence and exploring your sexuality is all about. This helps them get mature not about things like what should they do in life but regarding how should they talk to girls and learning the criteria on which a girl would rate them :P. So the race for getting into the thick of things begins early for them.

Now that we all have realized the reality of facebooking I still don’t have hope anyone would deactivate his/her account on the context that we simply waste our time on facebook….. so guys forget whatever I said and continue facebooking…. :D
