Showbiz- Where value is more than net worth!!!

Jet Airways flight SW-7105 from Delhi to Kolkata. Engrossed in temple run I realised the flight had been boarding for the past twenty minutes and as the norm I was the last among the lot to board the aircraft. Exchanging pleasantries with the air hostess and moving down the deck I was dumbstruck at the sight. It was bizarre to say the least. The entire group of passengers on board the flight had mustered around seat 4D. I tried to decipher what the problem was but being unable to do so, I finally consulted the air hostess regarding the same.

It was Mr. Honey Singh on board flight 7105. I stoically started locating my seat in the aircraft ignoring all the frivolous activities going on. However I flustered as I looked at my boarding pass again and saw 4C written under the seat column. Having slept only five hours last night the last thing that I wanted was to be sitting adjacent to a “less worth more value” showbiz person. I somehow made my way through to the seat, placed my laptop on the overhead baggage panel and sat down with my seat belt fastened only to find out that people were leaning against me to take the autographs and get their photos clicked with the trifling singer. I sat there hoping that the crowd would pervade once we take off.

Although it did happen for a short duration till the fasten seat belt signs were illuminated, however as soon as it went off so did the peace of my mind. Again I could see commotion around my seat as if a completely new creature had made his entry into this world and directly onto flight 7105. Finally after about half an hour when I had had enough, I earnestly requested the air hostess to change my seat so that I could doze off for whatever time was left.

The seat changed but the conditions didn’t. The weather gods and the “GOD” sitting on seat 4D made it sure that I was never in a position to sleep. Jaded away by all this, I decided to write this piece which you are reading now. Someone like E.Shreedharan would never have received such attention. In fact some of you reading this might take some time to recall who Shreedharan actually is. The satire over here is- people who need to be recognized are short lived in the public memory. People read about them and forget them, whereas a dimwit like Honey Singh singing “Dope Shope” on a cruise with a number of hot girls is always a big hit.... No matter how less the worth of the person is, all you need is an audience with an Indian mindset to sell anything everything...!!!
